About Me
Ian Wilson-Navarro is a photographer for change. He blurs the lines between adventure and conservation in how he works and lives.
Born to a Nicaraguan mother and an American father, Ian straddled both cultures as he grew up in the beautiful Florida Keys. In this natural playground, he learned to embrace discomfort and to bear witness to the ever-changing world around him.
His works showcase the vast, natural landscapes that have inspired him his entire life. More than that, they depict people living and working in harmony with the environment, instead of in control of it. In their passion, in their craft, Ian finds his inspiration.
Self-taught, Ian’s keen eye and prowess in the field allow him to capture the moments where man is one with nature and working to protect it. His perspective is candid and behind the scenes. His message is clear: we can and must do better ‒ for ourselves and our planet, and have a little fun while we're at it.
Whether it’s putting prescribed fire on the ground to restore an ecosystem or tagging and releasing fish to inform better fisheries management, there is work being done every day that improves how humans interact with their surroundings.
Ian relishes working with these people and telling their stories. Most of all, he hopes his art will encourage people to participate with a reinvigorated consciousness in the natural world around them.
